Your HP Hard Drive is arguably the most important
part of your PC. Without your hard drive it would
not matter how fast your system was, what kind of
processor it uses or what kind of programs it came
with, the hard drive stores all of the important
elements of your computer (such as making a program
run, for example) on it. Without it, you would be
dead in the water as far as your computer is
concerned. That is way properly taking care of your
hard drive is very important in order to keep your
computer running at its peak capacity.
One of the ways to keep your Hard Drive healthy
is by regularly running maintenance programs on your
hard drive. These are programs that will check your
hard drive for viruses or other problems that
prevent it from running to capacity or that things
that may pose a threat to your computer. Some
programs can even detect if there are missing
components to programs that will prevent them from
running correctly.
Another way to keep your hard drive from slowing
down is by keeping data that doesn't need to be
stored there off of your computer. For example,
while having digital pictures at your fingertips is
nice, it is not necessary to keep them stored on
your hard drive. Instead, purchase a portable hard
drive, burn a CD or keep them on card storage,
whatever is easiest for you to keep track of. This
will help to keep your computer running at its best.
Also, check your hard rive for programs that you
simply do not use any more. Even deleting a program
does not ensure that every part of the program is
gone. Check through and make sure that it is clean.
Lastly, make sure that you regularly defrag your
hard drive and back up your hard drive. Defraging
your hard drive means that you run a program that
locates empty space in your hard drive and
rearranges your information so that it is stored in
the most convenient manner. Blank spaces often occur
when you delete something and nothing new is saved
over the old information. Also, backing up your
information regularly will ensure that if some sort
of fatal error occurs, you will have recourse to
save your HP Hard Drive and your computer as well. |
